Passion and innovation are the hallmarks of Chopard’s philosophy, reflected in each unique creation of the L.U.C collection. On the inside or from the outside, each timepiece is the ultimate expression of beauty and the peak of watch-making art. The exquisite attention to every detail is the pure embodiment of authenticity and quality craftsmanship, mastered by a family-owned manufacture of mechanical movements. The first L.U.C timepiece housing a manufactured calibre was presented in 1997 after three busy years of research and development. That same year, this revolutionary timepiece was voted “Watch of the Year” and became a milestone in watchmaking history. In tribute to the company founder, it was named L.U.C 1860. Its innovative movement features a double-barrel system (L.U.C Twin technology) providing a power reserve of over 65 hours, as well as an off-centred micro-rotor. It was soon followed by other significant feats, such as L.U.C Calibre 1.98 Quattro, the world’s first wristwatch movement with four barrels, totalling a power reserve of approximately 9 days. Not forgetting the innovative L.U.C Calibre 1.02 Tourbillon, rightly considered a masterpiece of the watchmaking art, the L.U.C Calibre 96 QP, a perpetual calendar featuring an unprecedented orbital moon-phase display and the L.U.C Calibre 11CF, a column-wheel flyback chronograph movement boasting four innovative systems for which patents have been filed. L.U.C watches are all fitted with COSC-certified chronometer movements. Some also bear the famous “Poinçon de Genève” quality hallmark or the Fleurier Quality Foundation certification.
