A long-standing admirer of the music legend as well as of his fight against AIDS, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele was eager to support the work undertaken by the Elton John AIDS Foundation. At the 2000 Cannes Film Festival, Chopard accordingly organised a grand fundraising event for the Foundation, which is where the two first crossed paths. Seated side by side, these two creative spirits expressed a wish to establish a lasting cooperation in the struggle against AIDS. This sparked the idea of creating a unique collection inspired by the singer and from which a percentage of the proceeds would be donated to the Foundation. Over the years, a deep and sincere friendship has developed between Sir Elton John, David Furnish and Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, strengthened by many joint projects. In addition to watches, Chopard’ support is expressed through all kinds of events, such as the annual White Tie & Tiara Ball held in the gardens of Sir Elton John’s Woodside mansion, or the famous Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Viewing Party held in Los Angeles after the award ceremony.
