Chopard is honoured to create the statuettes for the first edition of The Green Carpet Fashion Awards
Chopard is proud to be associated with The Green Carpet Fashion Awards which was presented during the Milan Fashion Week, by the Camera Nazionale della Moda and Eco-Age, at the inaugural awards ceremony on September 24th at Teatro alla Scala. The trophies, specially designed by Caroline Scheufele, Chopard Co-President and Creative Director, are made of ethical Fairmined certified gold and crafted in the High Jewellery workshops of the Maison.
“Designing the award was an honour that would have been impossible to pass up,” said Caroline Scheufele, Chopard Co-President and Creative Director. “These awards are closely aligned with our values at Chopard, especially with the Journey to Sustainable Luxury and the celebration of the artisans involved in all levels of our supply chain. It was only right that the statuette should reflect the values at the heart of the event.”
The Green Carpet Fashion Awards, Italia highlights that fashion is an intensely human industry. Telling people’s stories – from the seamstresses who have dedicated their entire professional lives to their craft, through to the visionaries who have protected natural landscapes in order that they can sustain precious natural resources.
Exceptional artisans, mills, producers, emerging designers and brands were honored at the awards, in recognition of their achievements in areas from environmental and social stewardship, to the preservation of Italian heritage and crafts, and celebration of “Made in Italy”.
In an emotionally engaging evening, the world of fashion came together at Teatro alla Scala to celebrate Italian producers that champion community and social justice, traditional craftsmanship and innovation and technological transformation. For the very first time, the unique awards put sustainability – arguably the most important movement for humankind – at the heart of fashion in a ceremony fit for the Oscars, including a show stopping award produced by Chopard in certified Fairmined* gold.
During this magical night, the seamstresses of Valentino were honoured alongside Tiziano Guardini, an emerging designer whose ultra-chic use on ecological materials had impressed a judging panel of fashion industry grandees.
Guests walked the iconic green carpet (made from recycled fishing nets and old carpets by ECONYL), many wearing sustainable looks especially for the occasion.
