Harumi Klossowska de Rola designs for Chopard
We are honoured to announce that Harumi Klossowska de Rola, as an incredibly talented artist, is contributing to the splendour of our High Jewellery collection by designing a few unique and original pieces. The first creation from this “capsule” collection was presented on August 31st, 2012 at the Mostra del Cinema in Venice by beautiful British actress Kristin Scott Thomas, who chose to wear it on the red carpet at the premiere of her latest movie “Chez Hortense”.
Kristin Scott Thomas looked stunning wearing incredible white gold and diamonds earrings. For Chopard, Harumi designed this extraordinary piece, which evokes a horse and a lion, historically linked to the city of Venice, remembering her first trip there with her father Balthus, the internationally renowned painter.
Our Co-President Caroline Scheufele had been willing for a long time to collaborate with Harumi, who is a friend of her family. Harumi Klossowska de Rola’s love story with jewellery stones started in her childhood, in her family’s villa in Rome, where she spent hours picking rocks of all shades and colours, sandstones as well as mosaic fragments. She then decided to become a designer and chose to create jewellery.
Elegance and mystery have become Harumi Klossowska de Rola’s signature, with her way of mixing minerals, wood, stone and fabric. The sophistication of her work naturally led her to collaborate with Chopard.
