The Statement-Makers Of Cannes Film Festival

Every year, the Cannes Film Festival dazzles with some of the most daring and glamorous fashion choices of the season. While historically, stars rely on their gowns to channel romance and drama, increasingly it’s jewelry that they turn to for a show-stopping statement.

From jewels that adorn the body in uncommon places, such as the top of the hand or the length of the back, to pieces that play with the idea of scale, or that pop with color, many stars used Chopard to stand out on the red carpet in Cannes this year. Here we invite you to discover some of the most statement-making looks on the Croisette.

Oversized earrings were another popular way to shine, often worn with little to no accompaniment.  Marion Cotillard, Julianne Moore and Anja Rubik all favored these statement-making pieces.

Other stars could be seen referencing previous eras in their looks, though always with a modern twist. British model Poppy Delevingne exuded a post-Edwardian glamor with her chiffon sleeves and parted updo. The element of surprise came from an oversized necklace to match the plunging neckline of her dress.

Color was also a popular way to command attention on the red carpet this year. Adriana Lima stopped the show with her green Copacabana earrings that she complemented with side swept, glamorous hair.

Finally, many stars opted to wear jewelry on parts of body that are usually left bare. Sophie Marceau wore three white diamond bead necklaces that showed off her lovely back, while Marion Cotillard looked radiant in the hand jewelry that she designed for Chopard. This Art Deco-inspired piece of jewelry features diamonds and opals connected to a ring by a delicate chain. Part of our Green Carpet capsule collection, we are proud that the materials are sourced sustainably.
