The L.U.C 8HF awarded the European watch of the Year

On the 24th of September in London, our L.U.C 8HF received the “European Watch of the Year” Award in the GBP10,000-25,000 category at the second edition of the «Watch of the Year»  Awards by 00/24 Watch World, the renowned watch magazine.

The Mayfair Hotel played host to the leading lights of the European watch industry gathered for the second European Watch of the Year award, assessing the best watches of the past year.

It is a great honour and achievement as this timepiece boasts the L.U.C. 01.06-L Calibre, the world’s first chronometer-certified high-frequency movement. Beating at 57,600 vibrations per hour (8Hz), this significantly improves the calibre’s precision timekeeping properties, particularly in rate resumption and stability.

Unveiled at BASELWORLD 2012, the L.U.C 8HF model is definitely bound for the history books as the timepiece housing the first high-frequency (8Hz) escapement to have successfully undergone the rigorous tests conducted by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), a token of excellent precision and reliability.

«Chopard’s high-frequency piece, the first 8Hz chronometer, was a clear winner, being the equal of its peers for quality and beauty, but in a class apart for innovation.” said the jury.
