The new Superfast: An equilibrium of power, control and speed

We are proud to launch the new Superfast Automatic, Superfast Chrono, and Superfast Power Control timepieces. Unfailing passion and enduring emotion combine to create watches of distinction, much like the sports cars they honour.

For many years, Chopard has been a loyal partner of legendary classic car races, including the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique and the Mille Miglia. The cars that originally featured in those races – including Bugatti, Aston Martin and Ferrari – have today evolved into powerful and contemporary sports cars. The new and wildly elegant forms these vehicles now embrace has inspired these three new models. The Superfast Automatic, Superfast Chrono and Superfast Power Control pieces bring the world of precision watchmaking to the thrill-seeking sports-car drivers who are not afraid of power.

These timepieces have their own distinctive and bold characters. Just as the most famous racing teams throughout history must find a driver whose ambition, talent, and determination matches that of its cars, these three new pieces become truly remarkable on the wrist of those owners who in life live with equal ambition and drive.

In an effort to match the Superfast Automatic, Superfast Power Control and Superfast Chrono watches to its owner, we have created a Facebook application which asks what defines your quest to be “Superfast”.

As you adjust the dials for power, control and speed, you are transported to your own race, set on a mountain road, with tight and challenging curves; an open road along speed-fueled straights; and a classic racing circuit, a course similar to those where many famous drivers, teams and cars have made their name in the world of automobile racing.

Each combination of power, control and speed is completely unique to each driver and opens an opportunity to discover which of the Superfast Automatic, Superfast Power Control and Superfast Chrono watches truly reflects your own style of driving.

For those who find that their driving style equates to that of the Superfast Automatic, they will discover a piece that with only a passing glance reveals a forceful elegance – contemporary design with a luxurious finish, 18-carat rose gold case, chronometer certified movement and 60-hour power reserve.

Battling it out for pole position on a classic racing circuit in the heart of Italy, there is no time for distraction as you race with all your attention focused on the track in front. As you drop down through the gears and take each turn with an elegant confidence, knowing where you stand with your competitors in fierce pursuit all around you marks the difference between winning and second place.

If your style of driving is representative of the Superfast Power Control, then this timepiece with its date through a window at 3 o’clock, and a power-reserve indicator in a sector-type display at 9 o’clock makes a commanding presence on the wrist.

This is especially important on the long, straight and open highway roads, where you can drive for miles with little sign of another person, let alone a change in landscape. Once you have left your rivals in the dust behind you it is only you and the open road. With the confidence of knowing you have a full tank of gas you can put your foot down and make your way towards the setting sun in the distance.

Finally, a driver matched to the Superfast Chrono will be equipped with an equally powerful 45 mm-diameter case, a tachometric scale engraved on the bezel, and a chronograph with sweep seconds hand, minute counter at 3 o’clock and hour counter at 9 o’clock.

For this driver there is no room for error as you sweep around corners making your way towards the peak of the mountain. As the plush green tree-line gives way to jagged rocks peppered with ice and snow, it will require nerves of steel and acute precision to make sure you avoid a mistake that could send you towards the edge.

We now challenge you to find your own equilibrium between power, control and speed. If you think you have what it takes to be “Superfast”, take your seat, adjust your monitor and visit Chopard’s Facebook page.
