Two prestigious prizes for the L.U.C Collection

Last week, we were honoured to receive two prestigious prizes awarded to models from our L.U.C Collection watches, in Geneva and in Dubai. It is a great honor and achievement as the L.U.C Regulator and the L.U.C XPS 35mm “Esprit de Fleurier are the epitome of Chopard Manufacture’s watchmaking excellence.

Karl-Friedrich Scheufele commented:  « These two awards represent a great kick-off for the twenty years of Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier, we will celebrate next year!”.

The L.U.C Regulator

The L.U.C Regulator was rewarded with the 3rd prize at the “Watch of the Year” Award,  chosen amongst 40 pre-selected watches.

Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard, received the prize given by an independent jury of watchmaking professionals gathered by the Swiss magazine “Montres Passion”. This Award by “Montres Passion” is the only one to which watch brands are not invited to participate in. The jury attributes 5 prizes in total: the 1st,2nd and 3rd Watch of the Year prizes chosen by a jury, a prize chosen by the public, and the “Ladies Watch of the Year”.

The timepieces are pre-selected according to strict criteria. To be considered for the pre-selection, they must be Swiss made, must be produced in a series of more than 200 pieces and must not exceed a public price of 50.000 CHF. Movement finishing, readability of the dial, design and value for money are particularly scrutinized during the examinations by the jury. The fine craftsmanship, the Geneva Seal finishings, the optimal readability of the dial and the 9-day power reserve of the L.U.C Regulator have especially been appreciated by the jury members.

The L.U.C XPS 35mm “Esprit de Fleurier”

Presented for the first time at Baselworld 2015, the L.U.C XPS 35mm “Esprit de Fleurier” watch also won on Friday, 20th of November the “Best Ladies Watch Award”.

The ceremony was held during the “Salon des Grandes Complications” in Dubai. Philipp Amman, Wholesale Director of Chopard, received the prize awarded by an international independent jury of watchmaking professionals and connoisseurs (journalists, collectors and online bloggers …). Initiated by the Arabian Watches and Jewellery Magazine, the Middle East Watch of the Year award aims at reflecting the region’s appreciation of Swiss fine watchmaking. In total 12 prizes are awarded in appreciation of different categories.
