As part of the famous Paris Fashion Week and for the first time ever, the Avenue des Champs-Elysées was the setting for an exceptional runway show staged by L’Oréal Paris. Forty supermodels, looking their glamorous best thanks to the brand and the great houses of the fashion, graced the runway adorned with the most stunning creations by the jeweller Chopard. A unique showcase for the savoir faire deeply cherished by France and an eloquent tribute to the city of Paris, the timeless fashion capital.
It was undoubtedly the most spectacular event of Paris Fashion Week, involving the installation of a 60-metre catwalk on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées: a feat accomplished by L’Oréal Paris, backed by the City Hall of Paris. The French Maison, a beauty specialist, chose to turn the spotlight on feminine beauty with a prestigious runway show featuring 60 looks put together thanks to the finest hair and make-up artists from L’Oréal Paris, 18 fashion houses and an exclusive jeweller: Chopard. The Champs-Elysées, the traditional festive scene of major national events, was a natural choice of location in which to host this anthem to Parisian elegance.
The runway show, broadcast live on two giant screens, featured an international cast of the L’Oréal Paris’ most stunning muses: Alexina Graham, Barbara Palvin, Bianca Balti, Doutzen Kroes, Jane Fonda, Irina Shayk, Lena Meyer Landrut, Liya Kebede, Li Yuchun, Luma Grothe, Maria Borges, Marcus Butler, Neelam Gill, Soo Joo Park, Stefanie Giesinger, Taliana Vargas and Thylane Blondeau.
Internationally renowned for its savoir faire and its creativity, Chopard was also a natural choice to take part in this exceptional event. With 60 looks exclusively enhanced by jewellery representing its entire range of iconic collections – Ice Cube, Rihanna ♥ Chopard, Happy Hearts, along with the latest treasures to emerge from its High Jewellery ateliers –, the Geneva-based Maison thus revealed the full scope of its jewellery universe and of its creativity. It was also the first time that it showcased such a diverse array of creations complementing so many different looks.
Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Creative Director of the Maison, who was in the front row alongside models Arizona Muse and Petra Nemcova, wearing Chopard, and many other celebrities, said: “A woman’s attire is never complete without jewellery. I was won over by this project and the idea of presenting Chopard creations in the most beautiful setting one could ever hope for: the Champs-Elysées, the beating heart of Paris. This incredible show, associating a brilliant global beauty genius with a magical place and the world’s most gorgeous women, is such a fine celebration of Parisian elegance!”
With the majestuous Arc de Triomphe as background, the show closed on an incredible high point, with the legendary Jane Fonda magnifying the last look in a statuesque Balmain gown enhanced by a marquise-cut diamond necklace, a diamond ring and diamond earrings from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie collection. A fitting grand finale for an extraordinary event: through this runway show, installed along the historical trajectory running from Château du Louvre to the Arche de la Défense, the city of Paris was celebrated as the radiant capital of fashion and glamour. In addition to the 300,000 Parisians gathered around the catwalk a throng of fashion industry influencers, icons and new faces were in attendance for this must-see happening, captured by photographers from around the world amidst the flashing of camera bulbs. The City of Light had never shone so brightly.
