Entirely developed, produced and assembled in Chopard’s Fine Watchmaking workshops, the L.U.C 98.01-L calibre is the first manually-wound movement in the world to be formed of four barrels: two assemblies of two barrels, each with a 47 cm-long spring. The total spring length of 1.88 m allows the calibre to store enough energy to operate for 216 hours, or roughly 9 days. This exceptional autonomy is shown on the dial by a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock. Another key characteristic of the calibre is its concentric date and small seconds display in a counter at 6 o’clock. The movement’s entirely hand-crafted finishes meet the quality requirements of the Poinçon de Genève.
