The elegant L.U.C Quattro timepiece with its extremely generous 9-days power reserve continues its ongoing transformation. With its vertical satin-brushed blue dial framed by a white gold case, L.U.C Quattro expresses a subtly different spirit through the use of a hue radiating an aura of extreme distinction. Chopard has opted for a shade of blue directly inspired by English tastes such as those pervading private clubs, along with a formal yet eccentric aura of elegance. This 50-piece limited model is intended for gentlemen well-acquainted with watchmaking secrets and capable of recognising the inherent L.U.C fine craftsmanship.
Entirely developed, produced and assembled in Chopard’s Fine Watchmaking workshops, the L.U.C 98.01-L caliber is the first manually-wound movement in the world to be formed of four barrels: two assemblies of two barrels, each with a 47 cm-long spring. The total spring length of 1.88 m allows the caliber to store enough energy to operate for 216 hours, or roughly 9 days. This exceptional autonomy is shown on the dial by a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock. Another key characteristic of the caliber is its concentric date and small seconds display in a counter at 6 o’clock. The movement’s entirely hand-crafted finishes meet the quality requirements of the Poinçon de Genève.
