Description

L.U.C XPS
Ref. Number: 171948-5001
A great classic of the L.U.C collection, the L.U.C XPS timepiece is available in two new interpretations which demonstrate the expertise of the craftsmen of emotions at the Chopard Manufacture, both in terms of High Watchmaking and in the art of gem-setting. Without compromising on its sense of streamlining and simplicity, the L.U.C XPS features an extra-slim case in ethical 18-carat gold with a diameter of 40mm topped with a diamond-set bezel. The sunburst dial, in ruthenium grey for the rose gold version and black for the white gold version, is also adorned with elegant hour-markers set with baguette diamonds. Within the watch, the extra-slim self-winding L.U.C 96.12-L certified chronometer movement offers 65 hours of autonomy with two superimposed barrels thanks to Chopard Twin technology. Based on exquisite hand-crafted finishes, the result is a work of the watchmaking precision, humbleness and refinement that Chopard has never ceased to demonstrate for 25 years through the L.U.C collection.

Identity

A blend of heritage and modernity

In the midst of the 1990s, when traditional watchmaking was striving to recover from the sweeping influence of the quartz crisis, Chopard Co-President, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele created a workshop responsible for developing the first in-house calibre to pay tribute to the legacy of the Maison's founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard. Named L.U.C 96.01-L, the automatic micro-rotor movement, versatile and unrivalled at the time, marked the birth of Chopard Manufacture and the L.U.C. luxury watch collection.
