The power of design

With the Ice Cube collection, Chopard makes gold and diamonds glow and sparkle on the facets of a pure, simple geometric shape: the cube. But behind the apparent simplicity of this motif repeatedly used in the history of the decorative arts lies a creative force: a designer who sketches the contours and designs the volumes of a unique, dazzling yet easy-to-wear piece of jewellery. It is at the heart of such an undertaking that Coralie, a Jewellery Artisan Designer at Chopard, exercises her artistic talents.

Passionate about architecture and holding a degree in industrial design, Coralie is part of a team of prolific dreamers capable of building on a basic idea to create an entire world: a collection with a strong identity, in which new jewellery or timepieces come to life over the seasons. Her mission at Chopard is to let her mind drift, bring her thoughts to fruition and guide her hand in reinterpreting the cube through a collection developed in the late 1990s and inspired by small ice cubes. From a drawing on paper to the final creation in gold, Coralie pursues a veritable quest for harmony, proportion and balance.

                From concept to jewellery

                Aiming to enrich the collection with precious new precious interpretations, Coralie has come up with two creations ushering Ice Cube into the glittering world of Haute Joaillerie. This is an innovative approach that has changed the way Coralie approaches jewellery. While it all still begins with the cube, this creative path leads to unprecedented models. Through pencil sketches, more detailed watercolours and then enlarged three-dimensional models, Coralie tests the feasibility of her ideas with the jewellers who will have to carve her vision out of gold and diamonds.

                One identity, countless designs

                Thanks to ingenious gold architecture, the collection's signature cubes are reinvented in an articulated ribbon of unprecedented flexibility, woven from aligning cubes whose varying heights multiply their exposure to light. This is an innovative approach, as Ice Cube has never before been available as flexible jewellery nor with irregular cubes. Once placed on the skin, this new ribbon, available in a choker necklace and a highly sensual cuff bracelet, follows the body's movements in total symbiosis, endowing the wearer with a unique glow.
