The prestigious 1000 Miglia is undoubtedly the most beautiful car race in the world, (“la corsa più bella del mondo” as true aficionados call it). From 1988 until today, in honour of the event, Chopard has offered iconic watches with a resolutely sporty character tinged with Classic Racing accents and featuring a blend of distinctive elegance and Dolce Vita.

An iconic partnership
In 2022, Chopard Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele and his several times 1000 Miglia co-pilot, racing driver legend and Chopard ambassador Jacky Ickx celebrate a close relationship going back 34 years. At Chopard’s invitation, Jacky Ickx will be on the start ramp in Brescia at the 1000 Miglia 2022 to wave the competitors away as they set off into the night, as well as at the 1000 Miglia VIP Village on 15 June from 10am to 12pm to meet and greet, sign autographs and share his experiences.

Mille Miglia 2022 Race Edition Sports Watch
In 2022, Chopard, partner and official timekeeper is once again lining up on the starting grid for the 40th edition of the 1000 Miglia with two new 44 mm limited series of its eponymous chronograph based on the design of the Mille Miglia GTS luxury sports watch collection. In contrast to previous editions of the collection and in tribute to this most prestigious of classic open-road races, this year Chopard's emblematic sports watch collection appears attired in grey and blue.

A precision chronograph
This 1000-piece all steel chronometer-certified chronograph features a silver-grey dial marked by a subtle circular satin-brushed finish, and the use of an intense blue for the hands, hour-markers and bezel inlay. Like the large central sweep-seconds hand – the chronograph counter hands are red-tipped in a nod to the colour of the 1000 Miglia.

It is fitted with a gold-toned calfskin strap lined with rubber and patterned like the tread of 1960s Dunlop Racing tyres.
