Following a successful initial collaboration in 2021, Chopard is once again combining its creativity with that of the Bamford Watch Department studios to deliver a very exclusive edition of its Mille Miglia GTS Power Control timepiece. With its orange, grey and black details, its oversized numerals and its woven-effect rubber strap, the new Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Bamford Edition ‘Desert Racer’ reflects the passion uniting Chopard with motorsports. These 50 timepieces are crafted in bead-blasted titanium – a light, yet sturdy material. Subtly combining sleek aesthetics and technical excellence, it is powered by the Chopard 01.08-C movement endowed with chronometer-certified accuracy.

Entirely developed, produced and assembled in the Chopard watchmaking workshops, the Chopard 01.08-C caliber, a self-winding mechanical movement, is a COSC-certified chronometer that possesses a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. With a 60-hour power reserve and a stop-second function, it displays hours, minutes, seconds, the power reserve and the date with the precision and elegance that characterise Chopard.

This durable watch features a robust 43mm-diameter case made of bead-blasted titanium topped by a bezel with a black aluminium graduated inlay. Its short, streamlined lugs ensure an optimal fit on the wrist, complemented by an integrated rubber strap for all-day comfort.

Desert Racer is powered by a Chopard Calibre 01.08-C, exhibiting equally remarkable precision and performance. Chronometer-certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), this mechanical self-winding movement offers a generous approximately 60-hour power reserve.

Distinctive style

Featuring a frosted black dial with flame orange accents, and oversized numerals that are luminescent as are the hour-markers and hands, this gray special edition meets all motorsports’ inherent legibility requirements. An indicator inspired by the fuel gauges of the cars competing in the race offers an instant check of the power reserve.

Desert Racer recently survived its baptism of fire with George Bamford through the desert of northern Mexico.
