A mechanical wonder

The Beehive Table Clock

To mark the 30th anniversary of its Manufacture in Fleurier, Chopard presents the Beehive Table Clock in a limited series of 10 pieces, developed in collaboration with L’Épée 1839. Conceived as a chiming mechanical table clock and an Objet d’Art, this creation brings together horological innovation, Haute Joaillerie craftsmanship, and a powerful symbolic heritage.

Significance of the beehive

The beehive has been a defining emblem of Chopard since the era of founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard in the 19th century, symbolising precision, industriousness, and collective skill. Revived in 1996 by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele alongside the creation of Chopard Manufacture, this symbol finds a new expression in this creation. Its sculptural form, crafted in borosilicate glass with gold bees, evokes the harmony of a perfectly ordered hive.

A true Objet d'Art

The clock features rotating glass discs for the indication of hours and minutes, and a refined chiming mechanism with a glass bell gong. Three fixed bee motifs adorn the clock, symbolising three generations of the Scheufele family. Made of 18 carat Ethical yellow gold in Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie atelier, each one is set with yellow sapphires, black and white diamonds, black spinels, and rock crystal.
