THE JOURNEY TO
All materials featured in Chopard’s Green Carpet Collection are assessed for their environmental and social credentials. Additionally, we carefully evaluate the provenance of the raw materials as only those able to be traced to their origins can claim being part of the Journey.
The first steps of the Journey concerned gold and diamonds, but we continue our challenge and constantly work to expand partnerships with our suppliers to find new materials that meet our standards (for more information please refer to the ‘Partnerships’ section). We also understand that our contribution will count more if we act in concert with others. Therefore, we are joining our industry peers in global initiatives that drive corporate responsibility throughout the watch and jewelry industry.
We have adopted a Code of Conduct for Partners, which is inspired by major human rights, labor and environmental protection standards. The Code outlines our expectations from all downstream partners on responsible business practices. We require all our business partners to adhere this policy. This program allows us to ensure that our suppliers respect human rights, labour and environmental standards wherever they operate around the world. Learn more about the UK MODERN SLAVERY ACT.
Whilst we apply our Corporate Responsibility and sourcing policies to all materials we use in our pieces, including packaging, we have focussed on key materials to drive change in the supply chain. Thus, together with the Green Carpet Challenge directed by Mrs Livia Firth, we have designed and implemented initiatives that improve the lives and working conditions of producers in our supply chain, many of which are in developing countries. This is a long-term commitment we have called The Journey to Sustainable Luxury.
