Description
The peony, with its lusciously rounded bloom, has been a long-term inspiration for Chopard’s creativity. Since 2014, it has enjoyed a starring role in the L.U.C XP Esprit de Fleurier Peony series: a collection of breathtaking, limited-edition Fine Watchmaking timepieces celebrating the variety of artistic crafts at the heart of the Maison’s creative approach. For the new edition in ethical 18-carat rose gold limited to 8 pieces, Chopard is adds the art of Grand Feu Enamel to its pool of in-house Métiers d’Art practices. In a design inspired by the antique decorative pocket watches found in the L.U.CEUM, Chopard’s museum in Fleurier, Chopard’s enameling artisan has created a vibrant image of pink peonies blooming against a light green background. Visible through an open case back, the L.U.C 96.23-L mechanical self-winding movement is also beautifully decorated with Fleurisanne, an engraving technique perfectly mastered by a talented in-house artisan.

Movement
Entirely developed, produced and assembled in Chopard’s Fine Watchmaking workshops, the L.U.C 96.23-L self-winding mechanical movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and has a 65-hour power reserve thanks to Twin technology: a system invented by Chopard that combines two coaxial barrels, a particularly remarkable feat given the movement’s extreme thinness at just 3.3 mm thick. The movement is wound by a 22K gold micro-rotor. Engraved by hand using the Fleurisanne engraving technique, this movement demonstrates Chopard's passion for Artistic Crafts.
