Cannes International Film Festival

In 1998, Chopard became an official partner of the Cannes International Film Festival. Synonymous with glamour, the jewellery and watchmaking Maison made its contribution to this cultural event by redesigning the Palme d'Or. Chopard also supports the film industry in Cannes with the Trophée Chopard awarded to promising young actors.

MILLE MIGLIA

The legendary Mille Miglia car race was held annually from 1927 to 1957 before being revived in 1977. It takes competitors over 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) through the magnificent Italian countryside from Brescia to Rome and back again. Karl-Friedrich Scheufele is passionate about classic cars and has played an active part in the race since 1988, when Chopard became one of the event's main sponsors and official timekeeper for the first time. In his words, “Lovers of fine automobiles are said to have a weakness for precious timekeepers, and vice versa. In both fields, extreme precision and sporting elegance play a capital role.”

GRAND PRIX DE MONACO HISTORIQUE

Chopard’s official participation in this exceptional race highlights the very close link between the company and classic motor sports. The Grand Prix de Monaco Historique is an impressive retrospective of the golden age of car racing. As a tribute to the race Chopard created the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique collection—a series of exceptional chronographs. Held every two years, Chopard presents a new model of the popular timepiece to the winning drivers of each race as a tribute to their driving skills that lead them to victory with panache and fair play, in each case a well-deserved victory.
