Chopard at the 2023 Venice Film Festival

Launched in 1935, the Venice International Film Festival is the oldest of its kind and one of the most prestigious in the world. Its aim is to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. It presents a selection of world-class films, bringing some of the most successful directors and actors of our time to the red carpet at Lido di Venezia, continuing a tradition of compounding a wonderful artistic program with stunningly glamorous charm. The Festival also organises retrospectives and tributes to major figures as a contribution towards a better understanding of the history of cinema. Officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association), the 80th Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera.

With its 1,600 year-old-history including the Renaissance Grand Canal, gondolas, Piazza San Marco, Byzantine mosaics, St. Mark’s Basilica and, Venice is a unique artistic achievement in itself whose influence on the development of architecture and monumental arts is considerable.
