Description

L.U.C Flying T Twin Ladies
Ref. Number: 131981-9001
In 2019, the Chopard Manufacture completed its range of complications with a first self-winding flying tourbillon movement, the L.U.C 96.24-L. This caliber, featuring Chopard Twin technology with two superimposed barrels and high-precision adjustments – and in particular a stop-second function –, today drives the two new L.U.C Flying T Twin Ladies models: one in 18-carat ethical gold and one in diamond-set platinum. Extra-slim thanks to the fine proportions of their movements, these two timepieces each have a 35 millimeter diameter to perfectly suit ladies' wrists. With extreme mechanical and aesthetic refinement, these two limited series of just 25 timepieces reflect the manual genius and spirit that uplifts the craftsman of emotions of the Chopard Manufacture, as demonstrated by the chronometer certification and Geneva Seal.

The L.U.C 96.24 L calibre marks an important milestone in Chopard Manufacture’s pursuit of refined, ultra thin Haute Horlogerie. The Maison’s first self winding flying tourbillon movement, introduced in 2019, unites technical sophistication with elegant proportions, measuring a mere 3.30 mm in thinness. At the core of its architecture lies Chopard’s L.U.C Twin technology, featuring two stacked barrels that provide a steady 65 hour power reserve while preserving the calibre’s remarkably slender profile. The movement’s flying tourbillon - distinguished by its absence of an upper bridge - is supported solely from below, creating the impression of a mechanism suspended within the aperture and contributing to a sense of visual lightness. In addition to its aesthetic refinement, the L.U.C 96.24 L is one of the rare tourbillon calibres equipped with a stop seconds function, enabling precise time setting. This level of accuracy is validated by its Chronometer certification from the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). Every component is meticulously finished in accordance with the standards of the Poinçon de Genève Quality Hallmark, underscoring the craftsmanship and attention to detail that define the L.U.C collection and its dedication to noble watchmaking.

Identity

A blend of heritage and modernity

In the midst of the 1990s, when traditional watchmaking was striving to recover from the sweeping influence of the quartz crisis, Chopard Co-President, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele created a workshop responsible for developing the first in-house calibre to pay tribute to the legacy of the Maison's founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard. Named L.U.C 96.01-L, the automatic micro-rotor movement, versatile and unrivalled at the time, marked the birth of Chopard Manufacture and the L.U.C. luxury watch collection.
