In an industry with complex supply chains, risk areas need to be screened from the bottom up and mitigated by tailored-made responsible sourcing policies, along with risk mapping, processes, and procedures. This allows us to measure our supply chains’ performance against specific indicators to continuously improve our system and sourcing strategy.
At Chopard, the Head of Corporate Sustainability is in charge of leading the Responsible Sourcing Programme, working hand in hand with the purchasing team at each stage of the process.
Within the framework of this program, the Chopard Code of Conduct for Partners places specific responsibilities on all suppliers and sub-suppliers around the world, covering corporate governance, human rights, labour practices and environmental protection standards. The Code of Conduct for Partners outlines our expectations regarding responsible business practices from all downstream partners, and we require all our business partners to adhere to this policy.
Our Responsible Sourcing Programme includes a five-step due diligence system covering significant product categories and raw materials (precious metals, precious stones, steel and leather). The approach aims at preventing any negative human rights and environmental impacts and ensures that our sourcing practices do not contribute to conflict.
Our commitments are stated in Chopard’s Responsible Sourcing Policy and the system described in our annual supply chain due diligence report. We ensure that all stakeholders are able to raise potential concerns about our operations and our supply chain through our grievance mechanism.
