A historical partner of the Cannes International Film Festival since 1998, Chopard presents a new version of the L.U.C timepiece specially dedicated to the gentlemen stepping onto the red carpet of this not-to-be-missed cinema event. Inspired by the colors of the French Riviera, the new L.U.C XPS Azur watch reflects the hues of the Mediterranean sea with its azure blue hand-guillochéd dial. Released in a limited series of just 10 pieces in fair trade 18K gold, the watch is certified by the Geneva Seal. It ticks to the rhythm of the L.U.C 96.01-L movement, officially approved by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). More than any other piece, the L.U.C XPS Azur reflects the premium crafting and esthetic quality of the Chopard manufacture’s watch creations.
Fully developed, produced and assembled in the Chopard High Watchmaking workshops, this COSC-certified chronometer, the self-winding L.U.C 96.01-L mechanical movement, is the first calibre developed by the Chopard Manufacture in 1996. It oscillates at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a 65-hour power reserve thanks to Twin technology, a system patented by Chopard that combines two coaxial barrels, a particularly remarkable technical achievement in light of the extreme slenderness of its 3.3 mm-thick movement. With the Seal of Geneva, this movement is wound by a micro-rotor in 22K gold.
