Chopard, jeweller of the silver screen, adorns the heroine of a movie paying tribute to Céline Dion with its creations

Chopard and Aline

Back in late 1960s Quebec, Sylvette and Anglomard Dieu welcome their 14th child into a family where music reigns supreme. As Aline grows up, people realise she has a truly golden voice. When music producer Guy-Claude hears her, he becomes determined to make Aline the greatest singer in the world. Supported by her family and guided by Guy-Claude's experience and subsequently his growing love for her, they jointly write the pages of an extraordinary destiny.

Valérie Lemercier sought Caroline Scheufele’s support for the production of this great cinematic love story. Herself a great devotee of the seventh art, Chopard’s Co-President and Artistic Director is proud to have contributed to helping the actress morph into a globally acclaimed icon through costumes enhanced by the Swiss Maison’s jewellery creations.

In the course of Aline's transformation during the eponymous film, she appears adorned with models from the "Happy Hearts" collection – Chopard’s emblematic jewellery pieces embellished with coloured hearts and dancing diamonds – and even her engagement ring is a unique Chopard Haute Joaillerie creation. At the height of her career, she wears an exceptional necklace composed of an 11.46-carat central D-Internally Flawless type IIA pear-shaped diamond together with 28 sapphires (totalling 119.60 carats) alternating with 28 likewise pear-shaped diamonds (totalling 20.14 carats) and lighting up a midnight blue mermaid dress.

The character of her manager and husband Guy-Claude – played by Quebec-born actor Sylvain Marcel – wears an L.U.C XPS Twist QF Fairmined model from the L.U.C Haute Horlogerie collection, as well as a Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph.

Aline was selected for a special out-of-competition session at the 74th Cannes Film Festival. Chopard is historically an official partner to the Festival. Distributed by Gaumont, the movie will be released in France on November 10, 2021 and distribution rights have already been acquired by more than 40 countries worldwide.
