L.U.C

Since 1996, Chopard Manufacture has been reflecting the inspired vision of the Maison’s Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele. Twenty-five years after presenting its first Swiss watch, the Manufacture has acquired a degree of maturity enabling it to provide a range encompassing the entire spectrum of horological complications – all in-house crafted through an alliance of tradition and innovation: the L.U.C watch Collection.

Identity

A blend of heritage and modernity

In the midst of the 1990s, when traditional watchmaking was striving to recover from the sweeping influence of the quartz crisis, Chopard Co-President, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele created a workshop responsible for developing the first in-house calibre to pay tribute to the legacy of the Maison's founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard. Named L.U.C 96.01-L, the automatic micro-rotor movement, versatile and unrivalled at the time, marked the birth of Chopard Manufacture and the L.U.C. luxury watch collection.

“Since 1997, the L.U.C. collection of complication watches has been the expression of a visionary conception of Haute Horlogerie.”

Karl-Friedrich Scheufele

Movements

22 registered patents

In the 25 years since their creation, our workshops have been instrumental in developing a comprehensive set of watch movements that cover almost all existing horological complications. This ongoing commitment to innovation and improvement is evident in our twenty-two registered patents.

Chronometer certification

Fusing tradition with innovation, every L.U.C timepiece is meticulously crafted in-house and certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute.

The prestigious ‘Poinçon de Genève’

At Chopard Manufacture's decoration workshops, our skilled artisans perform a variety of masterful techniques, including Côtes de Genève, beveling, circular-graining, circular satin-brushing, sunray patterning, and Fleurisanne engraving. Recognized by the esteemed ‘Poinçon de Genève’ quality hallmark, each enhancement, down to the tiniest screw, reflects the meticulous attention to detail that defines L.U.C watchmaking.

"The L.U.C Collection represents a true concentration of horological mastery and artistic emotions."

Karl-Friedrich Scheufele

Creativity

Chiming watches

The L.U.C Full Strike, the first minute repeater in the L.U.C collection, brought a pioneering perspective to luxury men's watches. Together with its successors, the L.U.C Full Strike Tourbillon and the L.U.C Full Strike Sapphire, these timepieces feature a unique Chopard-patented system in which the gongs and sapphire crystal form a single entity, resonating as a whole to produce their chime.

L.U.C Skull Series

Every year since 2018, in tribute to the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead, Chopard has produced an exquisite, limited-edition luxury watch from its exceptional L.U.C collection.

SUSTAINABILITY

Responsible sourcing

When it comes to the origins of our creations, we aim to be as transparent as possible and to ensure that our high-quality materials are responsibly sourced.

Recycled steel

The collection proudly epitomises Chopard's strategic choices in building Sustainable Luxury. Steel watches are thus equipped with cases and bracelets made of Lucent Steel™, a responsible alloy exclusive to the Maison and composed of at least 80% recycled material.

Ethical Gold

As an expression of its commitment to responsible luxury, Chopard has used responsibly sourced gold in the creation of its watches and jewellery since 2018. In line with this ethos, the gold models are crafted in Ethical Gold.
