Double-certified excellence

L.U.C 96.09-L Calibre

The L.U.C Qualité Fleurier 20th Anniversary Edition timepiece is powered by the L.U.C 96.09-L calibre, whose architecture is based on the iconic L.U.C 96.01-L – the cornerstone of the L.U.C collection since 1996. Measuring a mere 3.30 mm in thickness, it incorporates Chopard’s Twin technology with a double barrel, delivering a 65-hour power reserve, and features a finely engraved micro-rotor crafted from ethical 22-carat gold.

Entirely designed, developed, and assembled in the Manufacture’s workshops, this movement showcases meticulous finishing: perlage, anglage, mirror polishing, and Côtes de Genève. These decorative techniques enable it to meet the stringent requirements of the Qualité Fleurier certification, which attests to overall quality, shock resistance, and ultimate precision. Furthermore, the accuracy of this self-winding movement is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), one of the prerequisites for the Qualité Fleurier certification.

The most comprehensive and one of the most stringent certifications in fine watchmaking.

Qualité Fleurier

Since its inception in 2004, the Qualité Fleurier certification has subjected timepieces to the most comprehensive set of tests in Swiss watchmaking. It recognizes not only technical and aesthetic excellence but also shock resistance, precision, and long-term durability. To earn this prestigious certification, a watch must meet five rigorous criteria.

First, all stages of design, manufacturing, assembly, and quality control of the watch head and its components must be carried out entirely in Switzerland. Next, the complete watch—movement and case—must meet the technical and aesthetic standards defined by the foundation. The movement must also pass the official COSC chronometer test, ensuring high precision. Additionally, the watch in its final casing must undergo the Chronofiable test to verify its reliability. Finally, it must successfully complete the Fleuritest simulation, a unique 24-hour test that replicates real-life wrist wear, alternating between calm and active phases.
